Dress Code

A dress code ensures that all students have the appropriate shoes and attire for dancing in each particular class. It helps students focus on their classwork and instills discipline.

All hair must be neatly pulled back, away from the face for ALL CLASSES; this means Hip Hop too.

All Ballet classes require buns or french twists only! Ballet is a discipline and respects all aspects of the historical foundations that go along with classical ballet.

Proper shoes are required for all classes. We request all dancers wear Capezio dance shoes of all types. There is no street shoes allowed in the studio, this includes hip hop sneakers which must be for indoor use only.

Jazz pants or shorts may be worn for Tap, Jazz, or Specialty classes ONLY.

No denim allowed.

Boys: read below for all classes

Black or white T-shirt (not oversized), Black shorts, or sweatpants. Acceptable shoe choices depending on the class requirements. Black Capezio ballet slippers, black Capezio lace-up tap shoes, black Capezio slip-on jazz shoes.

Girls: per class and level

First steps: Black or pink leotard, leotards with fastened skirts allowed, pink footed tights, pink Capezio ballet slippers, black Capezio tie tap shoes. No tutus or costumes. Hair must be pulled back off the face.

KinderCombo, ComboDance: Any solid-colored leotard, pink footed tights, pink Capezio ballet slippers, black Capezio tie tap shoes. Tan jazz shoes are optional. No tutus or costumes. Hair must be pulled back off the face.

All ballet classes: Solid black leotard, pink footed tights, pink Capezio ballet slippers. Ballet skirts are optional and must be a Ballet style skirt. No tutus or costumes are allowed. Hair must be back in a bun.

All tap classes: Any solid-colored leotard, black leggings or tan tights, and black Capezio lace-up tap shoes. No sweatpants, T-shirts, or casual clothing allowed. Hair must be pulled back off the face.

All jazz classes: Any solid-colored leotard, black leggings or tan tights, and tan Capezio slip-on jazz shoes. No sweatpants, T-shirts, or casual clothing allowed. Hair must be pulled back off the face.

All modern and contemporary classes: Any solid-colored leotard, black leggings or dance shorts, Barefeet, or dance socks (sticky bottomed socks). Pink convertible tights are permitted. Hair must be pulled back off the face.

All hip-hop classes: Sweatpants, leggings or athletic shorts, baggy T-shirts, tank tops or crew neck sweatshirts. No hoodies are allowed. Only flat-soled sneakers for indoor use or socks will be permitted as footwear. Hair must be pulled back off the face. We start the year in socks and recommend sneaker by February 1st.

All tumbling classes: bare feet, leggings or bike shorts, leotard or fitted shirt/tank top that hits the waistline. No baggy clothes to ensure student safety and the safety of our instructors when assisting and spotting for new skills.
